Executive Summary

As we had an obligation to reconstitute our governing body under the School Governance Constitution Regulations 2012 by 1 September 2015, we undertook a review of our instruments of government in light of the new guidance to ensure that we were in full compliance with DfE expectations. Our revised Instruments of Government was published in January 2014. In September 2016, the DfE released updated statutory guidance, ‘The Constitution of Governing Bodies of Maintained Schools’. As per our duty to publish them, our governance arrangements are outlined below.

In order to meet the skills requirements necessary to fulfil our core functions, we have a total of eleven governors on our governing body, broken down as follows:

• 2 parent governors
• 1 staff governor
• 1 local authority governor
• 1 Headteacher
• 6 co-opted governors
