Welcome to Yellowhammers!
Mondays and Tuesdays will be taught by Mrs Taylor.
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be taught by Miss Blyth.
Hi my name is Miss Blyth, this is my fifth year teaching at Coates Primary School. I am super excited about teaching in Year 2 this year with Mrs Taylor. In my spare time I love going on adventures with my little family and reading lots of different books.
Hi my name is Mrs Taylor and this is my first year teaching at Coates Primary School. I am really looking forward to teaching Year 2 this year and working with the amazing Miss Blyth. We will make an awesome team! In my spare time I love watching F1 (go Mclaren!), reading, doing cross stitch and being in the garden.
What are we doing on what day?
PE
PE will be on Tuesday and Friday. Friday will be taught outside, please ensure your child comes wearing appropriate clothing.
Reading
Please ensure you read at least 5 times a week. Reading diaries will be counted each Thursday. The children can change their reading book when they have finished it.
Homework
Homework will be set on Century this year. Each week a Maths and a Reading nugget will be set to be completed. Homework is set each Thursday and due in on Tuesday.
Spellings
Spelling tests will be on Thursdays and new spellings will be sent home on Friday.
Teach your Monster to Read!
We have a fab new platform for the children to practise their phonics skills at home and at school. It is called Teach your Monster to Read. It is free to use on an internet browser. The children have been shown how to use it and are very excited to use it!
